MaiMwana Project

MaiMwana Project is a research and development collaboration between the Malawi Ministry of Health (The Department of Paediatrics at Kamuzu Central Hospital and Mchinji District Hospital) and the UCL Centre for International Health and Development in the UK. The project was established in 2003 and is conducting the first randomized controlled trial evaluation of this approach in an African context characterized by a high maternal mortality rate and HIV and malaria prevalence.
